Bob Pays Tribute To Bobby Vee

Bob Dylan surprised the AmericanramA crowd at Midway Stadium in St. Paul, Minnesota, last night by paying tribute to early 1960’s heartthrob Bobby Vee. In 1959, Dylan played piano on a couple of dates for Vee under the name Elston Gunnn (sic). Vee, who last year announced he had Alzheimer’s disease, was in attendance. According to audio evidence and an article inCitypages, Dylan said:

I used to live here, and then I left … I’ve shared the stage with everyone from Mick Jagger to Madonna, but the most beautiful person I’ve ever been on stage with is Bobby Vee. He used to sing a song called ‘Suzie Baby’ …Please show your appreciation … with around of applause. We’re gonna try and do this song, like I’ve done it with him before once or twice.
